Every Different District

We all know that the United States is polarized along many different dimensions. But the familiar red-blue map can make it difficult to see exactly how people, geography, and politics line up with one another. This visualization, inspired by Alasdair Rae's work on UK constituencies, sorts US congressional districts by various demographic measures. Choose a variable to sort the districts. The districts with the lowest count of the variable you've chosen will appear in the upper left; those with the highest in the lower right. Each column is a decile of districts.
